Hello. I am entering the next 3 cards into the My Craft Spot Challenge #136. (http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/2014/05/challenge-136-mothers-day-or-spring.html)
On all three cards I used the artiste cartridge for the outside label and inside liner.
FOR MY MOTHER
She loves Hummingbirds and the sentiment I found on the internet was perfect for how I wanted to convey my feelings for her.
The next one is for my Mother-in-law. She loves flowers and the pretty yellow color reminds me of her bright, sunny disposition!
The last one is for a lady who was a big part of my growing up. Her daughter is my best friend and she was always there for me no matter what I needed.
A COUPLE OF TIPS!
|
TIP #1
I gently run an emery board over the top of new stamps to help them hold the ink better.
Ink on a new stamp tends to bead up and not make a crisp image.
I have found that the emery board takes that smooth finish off and helps make a crisper image.
I also stamp on a thin piece of foam like the sheets found in the craft store in the children's craft section. |
|
TIP #2
I don't have alot of sentiment stamps so I use the internet to get words for my cards.
To add them to the card, I draft print them on scrap copy paper then, using the light from the window,
I center my cardstock piece over the printed sentiment and tape it lightly to the copy paper. |
|
Then I run the copy paper through my printer again with it on normal print (and color if wanted).
The sentiment prints nicely on the cardstock and I don't have to purchase alot of sentiment stamps.
This is my favorite tip for card making. I have an endless amount of sentiments and quotes available to me.
I also save my favorites in a folder on my computer so I don't have to search for them when I want one.
(You can case this idea if you want. LOL)
Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!
