TOP HONORS & RUBBER ON THE ROAD

Hi there paper crafters!  Remember the Rolo pencils I made for the CardzTV challenge?
Well, I entered them in the Decorate to Celebrate Challenge also and was awarded with
TOP HONORS!

I really had fun making them and the kindergartners I made them for sure enjoyed them.
I was kind of sad to see them rip their way to the candy but the Moms and Dads liked them and thanked me for my thoughtfulness.

This challenge stuff is kinda fun.
Now if I can just make the time to do more of them but...

SUMMER AWAITS!

And so here is the latest "Rubber on the Road" entry...

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #213

Hi everyone!
WOW, two challenges in a row...that is super good for me!

Today I am posting a card on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog for card stash.
I never have any cards for "Get Well Soon" so that is what I did.

Light Pink cardstock embossed with Hearts folder.
White cardstock base and fuchsia mat.
Added computer generated sentiments.
This font is" Vanessa".
Attached fuchsia mat to card base using glue runner.
Attached embossed pink to fuchsia with glue dots.
It seems to work better than the glue runner as it does not
flatten the embossing.
Added little fuchsia hearts from the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge
to coordinate with the front.
Stuck the band-aids on, added eyes and a marker smile.
Super Cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

CARDZ TV Graduation Challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I am posting my project for the CardzTV Challenge.  I made these cute pencils for my granddaughters Kindergarten class.  They are graduating on June 5th.

Although this is not my original idea, it is my interpretation of it.

These are all the components needed to make the pencils.  Yellow paper, pink paper, silver foil paper or ribbon, roll of Rolos, Hershey Kiss, glue dots and I used Redline tape to adhere the paper around the Rolo.  You can also use decorative scissors (I used a wave) and stamps.
First I used two large glue dots to attach the Kiss to the bottom of the Rolo.  Then I cut the yellow to go around the Rolo with a little covering the Kiss.  I cut the wavy pattern on the bottom of the yellow using the decorative scissors. I embossed lines every three marks on my scoreboard running lengthwise down the yellow. Using tiny stamps, I stamped several graduation messages and icons on the pencil paper. Then I cut pink strips and circles for the eraser.  I was going to use Mentos for these but that candy doesn't have a wrapper.

Next, using the Redline tape, I attached the silver strip (I used silver paper ribbon from a Christmas roll) around the pink eraser making sure to place it half on the pink and half on the yellow.
